Scrunch alternatives: seven AI visibility tools compared on price, engines and site work
Anjaneyulu Jadda, SEO and AI visibility · Updated
The main alternatives to Scrunch are AthenaHQ for more engines on a self-serve plan, Peec AI or Otterly.AI for a lower monthly price, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit or Ahrefs Brand Radar if you already pay for one of those suites, and XeoRank if you also need technical SEO and an agent that edits your pages. Scrunch's own strength is prompt count on its entry plan: its pricing page lists 125 unique prompts on the $250 Core plan, more than the entry plans of Peec AI (50), Semrush (25) or Otterly (15).
We make XeoRank, one of the tools compared here. Every price and feature on this page comes from the vendor's own pages, checked 13 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you buy.
The short answer
Stay with Scrunch if you want 125 prompts on one self-serve plan. Its custom-priced Enterprise plan fits if you need Meta AI, Claude and Grok tracked alongside both Google AI surfaces, or a bot-facing version of the site because your pages are slow to change. If price is the problem and you need fewer prompts, Otterly or Peec AI costs less per month, and AthenaHQ covers more engines on a self-serve plan. If nobody acts on the reports, XeoRank audits and edits the site too.

What Scrunch does well
Scrunch Core costs $250 a month for 125 unique prompts, 5,000 responses a month, 5 site audits a month, 1 brand workspace and 5 users, with a 7-day free trial (Scrunch pricing). That works out to $2.00 per prompt a month by our arithmetic, close to the $1.90 of Peec AI Starter at $95 for 50 prompts (Peec pricing), with two and a half times as many prompts on one plan.
Core covers four engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. The custom-priced Enterprise plan covers nine, adding Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok (Scrunch pricing). Among the entry plans compared here, only AthenaHQ Starter lists Meta AI.
Scrunch describes AXP, a separate, AI-readable version of your site for AI bots, and its pricing page lists it on Enterprise. If your pages are hard for crawlers to read and slow to change, that gives AI engines clean content without a rebuild.
Enterprise also lists API access and MCP access; Core lists neither (pricing).
Why people look for a Scrunch alternative
The entry price. $250 a month is a big first step for a consultant, a small business or an agency testing AI visibility for a few clients. AthenaHQ has a free plan and Otterly starts at about $25 to $29 a month.
Seats. Scrunch Core includes 5 users (pricing), while Peec AI includes unlimited users on every plan.
Site work. Scrunch Core includes 5 site audits a month, and API access is Enterprise only (pricing). If you also need a full-site technical SEO crawl, keyword rank tracking and Search Console reporting, plan on a second tool.
AXP does not change the pages people see. If you want the fix on the real page, so visitors, Google and AI engines read the same content, you need a tool that edits it, or a developer.
The alternatives in more detail
AthenaHQ for more engines and a free plan
AthenaHQ Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits, where one credit is one AI response, across 11 engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. A free Essential plan gives $25 of credit on five engines. It publishes posts to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Framer, Payload, Sanity and Contentful. It handles robots.txt and llms.txt, and its crawler audits public pages for JavaScript dependence, title tags, structured data and whether AI crawlers can read them, but a full technical SEO crawl and keyword rank tracking are not described. See AthenaHQ alternatives or XeoRank vs AthenaHQ.
Best for teams that want more engines and a free plan to start. Skip it if your work also covers full technical SEO audits and rankings.
Peec AI, a lower entry price with unlimited users
Peec AI Starter is $95 a month ($80 billed annually) for 50 prompts on three models you choose, with unlimited users. Enterprise lists up to 13 models. Its MCP server lists 51 read tools and 48 write tools. It does not audit or edit your site. See Peec AI alternatives.
Best for a lower entry price with unlimited users. Skip it if site work is part of the job.
Otterly.AI, the lowest entry price among dedicated trackers
Otterly Lite costs about $25 to $29 a month (both figures appear on its pricing page) for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Google AI Mode and Gemini are $9 a month each and Claude is $29 as add-ons. It runs GEO audits of single URLs for crawlability, bot access and page speed. See Otterly alternatives.
Best for teams that want the lowest entry price among dedicated trackers. Skip it if you want Gemini or Claude in the base price.
Semrush and Ahrefs, if you already pay for the suite
Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit is $99 a month for 25 prompts, with no free trial. Its pricing page shows Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, while the knowledge base names Google AI Mode and ChatGPT.
See Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit alternatives.
Ahrefs Brand Radar starts at $199 a month, covering AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and ChatGPT, with Claude counted as 8 checks. Ahrefs' pricing page says Brand Radar is available as a standalone tool that comes with a free Ahrefs account, so you can buy it without a paid plan such as Lite ($129 a month). See Ahrefs Brand Radar alternatives.
Best for teams that already pay for one of those suites.
XeoRank for AI visibility plus technical SEO and real page edits
XeoRank Starter is $19 a month with a 14-day free trial and no card. XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions and reports each engine on its own, next to an overall rate; see pricing for what each plan includes. Pro ($49 a month) and Growth ($109 a month) include a technical SEO crawler that understands page types and, in crawls started from the dashboard, renders JavaScript when a page needs it, rank tracking by country, state or city, and Search Console and GA4 reports.
The bigger difference is what happens after the report. XeoRank's agent, which works inside Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or VS Code through the XeoRank MCP server, edits the real pages: existing WordPress pages and posts, including Elementor layouts, plus Framer and code sites. Your AI assistant asks before each change, WordPress writes are off for each site until you enable them, new pages go in as drafts, and every change to a WordPress page's content is snapshotted so you can roll it back. The MCP server is on every plan.
What XeoRank does not do: it does not track Copilot, which Scrunch Core includes, or Claude, Meta AI and Grok, which Scrunch Enterprise adds; it includes fewer prompts than Core's 125; and it has no bot-facing version of your site like AXP.
Best for teams that need technical SEO and edits to the real pages as well as tracking. Skip it if Meta AI, prompt volume or a bot-facing site decides the purchase.
Profound, if you need enterprise controls
Profound shows a 7-day free trial and a custom-priced Enterprise plan with up to nine engines, SSO and SCIM, and its MCP server is on Enterprise. It suits large brands more than teams leaving Scrunch over price. See Profound alternatives.
Best for large brands that need enterprise controls. Skip it if you are leaving Scrunch over price.
When to stay with Scrunch
Stay with Scrunch if you want more prompts on one self-serve plan: Core includes 125 unique prompts for $250 a month (Scrunch pricing), more than the entry plans of Peec AI or Otterly, though not at a lower cost per prompt. Enterprise fits if you need Meta AI, Claude and Grok tracked alongside both Google AI surfaces, or a bot-facing version of the site because your pages are slow to change. Scrunch also fits if your SEO work is covered elsewhere and five users is enough.
Best for teams that want more prompts on one self-serve plan. Skip it if you want the fix on the real page people see, or more seats than Core includes.
How to choose
- If price is the problem, count the prompts you need. If 15 to 50 is enough, Otterly or Peec AI costs less per month. If you need more than 50 on one self-serve plan, Scrunch Core includes 125.
- If engine coverage is the problem, AthenaHQ covers 11 engines on a self-serve plan.
- If nobody acts on the reports, pick a tool that also audits and edits the site. That is the gap XeoRank was built for.
You can try XeoRank's approach first with the free AI visibility check, which asks Gemini three buyer questions about your market with no login. For a wider field, see the best AI visibility tools.
Sources and how we compared
We compared each tool using its own pricing page, feature pages and help documentation, all checked on 13 October 2026. For each one we recorded the lowest paid plan, how many prompts it includes, the AI engines it tracks, its technical SEO coverage, whether it can change your website, and whether it offers an MCP server.
Where two of a vendor's own pages disagree, we show both figures. We did not buy every plan, so features behind a sales call are described from the vendor's documentation. XeoRank is our product, and its details come from our own pricing page and documentation.
