Ahrefs Brand Radar alternatives: AI visibility trackers with and without an SEO suite

, SEO and AI visibility · Updated

The main alternatives to Ahrefs Brand Radar are the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit and SE Ranking if you want AI tracking inside an SEO suite, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Scrunch or AthenaHQ if you want a dedicated tracker, and XeoRank if you want tracking, technical SEO and site edits in one plan. Brand Radar's AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month, and Ahrefs sells it as a standalone tool that comes with a free Ahrefs account, or alongside a paid plan (Brand Radar, Ahrefs pricing).

We make XeoRank, one of the tools compared here. Every price and feature below comes from the vendor's own pages, checked 13 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you buy.

The short answer

Stay with Brand Radar if you already pay for Ahrefs and rely on its backlink and keyword data, or you need Copilot and AI Mode tracked. Semrush and SE Ranking customers should start with those suites' own AI modules. For tracking alone, Peec AI or Otterly costs less than Brand Radar's $199 starting price, and XeoRank fits when the people reading the report also fix the site.

What Brand Radar costs and covers

Ahrefs' pricing page lists Starter at $29 a month (monthly billing only), Lite at $129, Standard at $249 and Advanced at $449, with Enterprise at $1,499 billed annually. Lite includes 5 projects, 750 tracked keywords, 5 AI prompts and one user. Brand Radar's AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month, and custom prompt packs cost $50, $100 or $250 a month. The pricing page's FAQ says Brand Radar is available as a standalone tool and that buying it also gives you an Ahrefs Free account, so you do not need a paid plan first.

It covers six engines: Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and ChatGPT. Claude is listed too, and counts as 8 checks (Brand Radar).

What Brand Radar does well

It puts AI mentions next to the Ahrefs index. Ahrefs reports 29 billion keywords and 35 trillion backlinks of history on its big data page. If your team already researches links and keywords in Ahrefs, seeing AI visibility in the same tool saves a context switch.

It covers Copilot and AI Mode, which several trackers below leave out or charge extra for. Ahrefs' MCP server is on Lite and above, so you can query the data from an AI assistant, and Ahrefs Free, formerly Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, is free for sites you verify.

Why people look for an alternative

Total cost. Brand Radar starts at $199 a month before any custom prompt pack (Brand Radar), against $95 for Peec AI Starter or about $25 to $29 for Otterly Lite.

Fixes. Brand Radar reports; it does not change your pages. Ahrefs' Patches change titles and meta descriptions only, through a JavaScript snippet or a Cloudflare Worker, and each one is published by hand. Publishing them needs the Project Boost Max add-on, at $200 a month per project (pricing).

Content, schema and layout fixes need another tool or a developer.

Prompt costs on top. Custom prompt packs are priced separately, so tracking your own buyer questions can add $50 to $250 a month (Brand Radar).

The alternatives in more detail

Semrush, the other large suite

Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit is $99 a month for 25 prompts, with no free trial. Its sources differ on engines: the prices page shows Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, while the knowledge base names Google AI Mode and ChatGPT. On the same prices page, the Starter plan bundles SEO with 50 AI prompts for $199 a month ($165.17 billed annually), with 5 websites and 500 tracked keywords. Semrush's MCP server is read-only and uses API units. See Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit alternatives.

Best for teams that already pay for Semrush. Skip it if you want an MCP server that can write.

SE Ranking, AI tracking in a lower-priced suite

SE Ranking Core is $129 a month ($103.20 billed annually) with a 14-day free trial and no card. It includes 10 projects, 2,000 tracked keywords, 250,000 audit pages, MCP access and 100 GEO prompts a day across 5 LLMs. The AI Search add-on is $89 a month, and the standalone SE Visible tracker is $99, $189 or $355 a month for 200, 450 or 1,000 prompts. White label is an Agency Pack add-on at $69 a month, billed annually. Note that an SE Ranking MCP key has the same access as the account.

Best for AI tracking inside a lower-priced suite.

Peec AI and Otterly.AI, dedicated trackers for less

Peec AI Starter is $95 a month ($80 billed annually) for 50 prompts on three models you choose, with unlimited users and an MCP server with 51 read and 48 write tools. Otterly Lite is about $25 to $29 a month (both figures appear on its pricing page) for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, with AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as add-ons. Neither edits your site; Otterly's audits are single-URL GEO checks. See Peec AI alternatives and Otterly alternatives.

Best for teams that only need tracking. Skip them if site work is part of the job.

Scrunch and AthenaHQ for more engines or more prompts

Scrunch Core is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts and 5,000 responses a month on four engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. The custom-priced Enterprise plan covers nine, adding Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok, and lists AXP, a separate AI-readable version of your site for bots. AthenaHQ has a free plan with $25 of credit, and its $295 Starter plan covers 11 engines with 3,600 credits, one credit per AI response. It publishes posts to eight CMSs. See Scrunch alternatives and AthenaHQ alternatives.

Best for more prompts on an entry plan, in Scrunch's case, or engine coverage, in AthenaHQ's.

XeoRank for tracking plus technical SEO and fixes in one plan

XeoRank Starter is $19 a month with a 14-day free trial and no card. XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions and reports each engine separately, next to an overall rate; see pricing for what each plan includes. Pro ($49 a month) and Growth ($109 a month) include a technical SEO crawler, keyword research with clusters, rank tracking by country, state or city, and Search Console and GA4 reports, with backlinks and a disavow file builder on Pro and above.

Where Brand Radar stops at the report, XeoRank's agent works inside Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or VS Code through the XeoRank MCP server, which is on every plan. It edits existing WordPress pages and posts, including Elementor layouts, and Framer and code sites. Your AI assistant asks before each change, WordPress writes are off for each site until you enable them, new pages go in as drafts, and every change to a WordPress page's content keeps a snapshot you can restore.

What XeoRank does not do: its keyword database and backlink index are much smaller than Ahrefs', it does not track Copilot or AI Mode, and it covers fewer engines than AthenaHQ or Scrunch Enterprise.

Best for teams where the people reading the report also fix the site. Skip it if Copilot, AI Mode or Ahrefs-scale data decides the purchase.

When to stay with Brand Radar

Stay with Brand Radar if you already pay for Ahrefs and rely on its backlink and keyword data, because keeping AI visibility next to that data saves a second tool and a second login. It also fits if you need Copilot and AI Mode tracked, or want a pre-built index of prompts rather than writing your own list. If you only need a few questions, check first whether the 5 AI prompts included in Ahrefs Lite (pricing) are enough.

Best for Ahrefs customers who rely on its backlink and keyword data. Skip it if you only need tracking at a lower price, or need content, schema and layout fixes.

How to choose

  1. If you already pay for a suite, start with its AI module: Brand Radar for Ahrefs, the AI Visibility Toolkit for Semrush, the AI Search add-on for SE Ranking.
  2. If you only need tracking, a dedicated tool such as Peec AI or Otterly costs less than Brand Radar's $199 starting price.
  3. If the people reading the report also fix the site, pick a tool that audits and edits pages too. That is the gap XeoRank was built for.

You can see how Gemini answers your buyers with XeoRank's free AI visibility check, three questions with no login. For the wider field, read best AI visibility tools.

Sources and how we compared

We compared each tool using its own pricing page, feature pages and help documentation, all checked on 13 October 2026. For each one we recorded the lowest paid plan, the AI engines it tracks, its place in an SEO suite, whether it can change your website, and whether it offers an MCP server.

Where two of a vendor's own pages disagree, we show both figures. We did not buy every plan, so features behind a sales call are described from the vendor's documentation. XeoRank is our product, and its details come from our own pricing page and documentation.
