The best AI visibility tools in 2026, by what you need them for
Anjaneyulu Jadda, SEO and AI visibility · Updated
There are now dozens of tools that track how AI engines talk about your brand. Which of them are the best AI visibility tools for you depends on four differences: price, which AI engines they cover, whether they also do classic SEO, and whether they can change your site or only report on it.
We compared nine on those four points. Every price and feature below comes from the vendor's own pricing page or documentation, checked on 13 October 2026. We make one of the tools, XeoRank, and we have tried to describe it as plainly as the others, including where it is weaker.
The short answer
Profound suits enterprise brands, AthenaHQ covers the most engines on a self-serve plan, Otterly.AI has the lowest entry price and Scrunch's entry plan includes 125 prompts. Peec AI suits prompt tracking with an MCP server, and teams already paying for Semrush or Ahrefs can add those suites' AI modules. XeoRank fits when one person does the SEO, the tracking and the fixes.

Profound, best for enterprise brands
Profound is built for large marketing teams: SSO, SCIM and compliance, up to nine engines, AI crawler analytics from your CDN logs, prompt-volume estimates, and agents that publish to WordPress, Contentful, Drupal, Sanity and others. It also publishes the most useful research in the category, including an analysis of 680 million citations. It shows no public price beyond a 7-day trial, and its MCP server is on the Enterprise plan. See Profound alternatives if that does not fit.
AthenaHQ, best engine coverage on a self-serve plan
AthenaHQ's $295-a-month Starter plan covers 11 engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. A free Essential plan with $25 of credit covers five. It publishes posts to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Framer, Payload, Sanity and Contentful. Its crawler audits public pages for JavaScript dependence, title tags, structured data and AI crawler access, but a full technical SEO crawl and rank tracking are not described. Compare it in Profound vs AthenaHQ.
XeoRank, best when one person does the SEO, the tracking and the fixes
XeoRank is the tool on this list that combines AI visibility with a full technical SEO audit, rank tracking, Search Console and GA4, and an AI agent that edits the site. Its AI visibility tracking asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions and shows each engine next to an overall rate; Pro is $49 per site a month, and the pricing page lists what each plan includes. Through the XeoRank MCP server, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor can rewrite a heading, add schema or rebuild an Elementor section on the pages you already have; the assistant asks before each tool call, and WordPress writes stay off for a site until you turn them on.
Weaker on: engine count (no Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek or Meta AI), prompt count compared with Scrunch's 125 on its entry plan, and no prompt-volume estimates.
Peec AI, best for prompt tracking with an MCP server
Peec AI costs $95 a month ($80 billed annually) for 50 prompts on three models you choose, with unlimited users and daily tracking. Its MCP server has dozens of read and write tools for managing prompts, brands and topics, one of the most complete we saw. It does not audit your site or change it.
Otterly.AI, lowest entry price
Otterly Lite is about $25 to $29 a month (both figures appear on its pricing page) for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Gemini, AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons. It also runs GEO audits of single URLs for crawlability, bot access and page speed. Good for a first look; 15 prompts runs out quickly.
Scrunch, more prompts on an entry plan
Scrunch Core is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts and 5,000 responses a month on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with 5 site audits a month, 5 users and a 7-day free trial. The custom-priced Enterprise plan covers nine engines, adding Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok, and lists AXP, which serves a separate AI-readable version of your site to bots instead of editing the pages people see.
AI Visibility Toolkit, if you already pay for Semrush
$99 a month per domain on annual billing, 25 custom prompts, on ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Site Audit and Position Tracking sit in Semrush's separate SEO Toolkit.
Brand Radar, if you already pay for Ahrefs
Brand Radar tracks AI mentions and cited pages from $199 a month on the USD pricing page, which says it is available as a standalone tool that comes with a free Ahrefs account, so you do not need a paid plan such as Lite ($129). It covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, with a large pre-built prompt index.
Writesonic, if you want writing and tracking together
Writesonic Starter is $79 a month billed annually for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, plus 15 AI-written articles and site audits. Its WordPress integration publishes posts as drafts. More engines are on Enterprise only.
How to pick
- Write down the 20 questions your buyers ask an AI assistant, without your brand name in them. Any tool is only as good as its prompt list.
- Decide which engines matter. For most B2B and local businesses that is ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews first. Paying for 11 engines is wasted if your buyers use two.
- Decide who acts on the report. If an agency or an in-house SEO will make the changes anyway, a tool that also audits and edits the site saves a second subscription. If a content team writes new articles, a tool that publishes posts fits.
- Run a trial on the same 20 questions in two tools and compare the citations they report. Results vary run to run, so look for domains that appear in both runs.

Sources and how we compared
We compared each tool using its own pricing page, feature pages and help documentation, all checked on 13 October 2026. For each one we recorded the lowest paid plan, the AI engines it tracks, its technical SEO coverage, whether it can change your website, and whether it offers an MCP server.
Where two of a vendor's own pages disagree, we show both figures. We did not buy every plan, so features behind a sales call are described from the vendor's documentation. XeoRank is our product, and its details come from our own pricing page and documentation.
