Open Graph checker

Enter up to five URLs to see their Open Graph and Twitter card tags, and a preview of the card people see when the page is shared in chat apps and social networks.

Up to 5 pages, one per line.

The tags every page should have

  • og:title and og:description, written for someone deciding whether to open the link.
  • og:image, an absolute URL to an image that still reads when shown small.
  • og:url, the canonical URL of the page.
  • og:type, usually website or article.

The full protocol is at ogp.me. X (Twitter) reads its own twitter:card tag and falls back to Open Graph for the rest.

Related checks

Open Graph does not affect Google rankings, but the title and description tags do affect clicks. Check those with the meta tag checker and preview them with the SERP snippet preview.

Questions

What are Open Graph tags?
Meta tags such as og:title, og:description and og:image that tell social networks and messaging apps what to show when a link is shared. The protocol is documented at ogp.me.
What size should the og:image be?
A wide image around 1200 by 630 pixels is a common choice because many platforms display link images at roughly a 1.91 to 1 ratio. Check each platform's documentation for its current limits.
Why does my old image still show after I changed it?
Platforms cache link previews. Most offer a debugger or refresh tool to fetch the page again.
