SaaS SEO tool for comparison pages, docs and AI answers
Mohit M, SEO · Updated
XeoRank is a SaaS SEO tool for the pages buyers read before they sign up: comparison and alternatives pages, docs, pricing and feature pages. It reads your Search Console data, checks how ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity answer your buyers' questions, and lets an AI agent edit a WordPress site or commit to a code site on GitHub and Vercel, with your AI assistant asking before each tool call.
Who it is for
- Founders and small marketing teams at SaaS companies who do SEO alongside everything else.
- Developer-led teams whose marketing site is a repository deployed on Vercel.
- SaaS companies on WordPress or Framer that want fixes made on the site, not only listed.
Comparison and alternatives pages
People search for "X alternatives" and "X vs Y", and they ask AI assistants the same questions. To find the versions of those queries that matter for you, start a keyword research session and group the results by intent with keyword clustering.
For pages you already have, content gap analysis compares your page with rival pages for each query it ranks for, covering pages that rank but are not yet near the top. For each query you see missing topics, whether click-through is the problem, how many competitors are in the mix, and your word count against theirs.
The content engine turns an opportunity into a brief with the evidence attached: Search Console queries, your own pages to link to, and the headings and entities rival pages cover. Your draft gets a rankability score computed by rules, not by a model.
On WordPress, publishing a new brief creates a draft; publishing a brief that optimises an existing post updates that post.
Comparison pages make claims about other companies, so they need sources. The content engine stops a draft that still has unsourced claims or placeholder text; only a person, from the dashboard and with a stated reason, can publish it anyway. On Pro and above, the Writing Agent reviews a draft for unsourced claims, filler and slop, and suggests minimal fixes that you accept or reject. It drafts only from your own material, such as interview answers and notes, so it is not a one-click article generator.
Docs
If your docs are built with a JavaScript framework, check that search engines can read them. Crawls started from the dashboard can render JavaScript in a headless browser, and the crawler flags groups of pages whose unique content is missing from the server HTML, along with broken pages, soft 404s, redirect chains, canonical collapse and duplicate titles. Search Console's query-to-page mapping then shows which docs pages get impressions, and for which queries.
XeoRank also has a free llms.txt generator, but be clear about what it does. Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode need no special AI text files or schema, and that normal SEO practice still applies (Google's guidance on AI features).
AI answers to buyer questions
Track the questions buyers ask, such as "which CRM works for a small agency that lives in Slack", and see each engine's answer on its own. XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions; see pricing for what each plan includes.
Each engine's results are shown separately, next to an overall citation rate.
The engines change quickly and independently. Profound's analysis found a citation half-life of about 11 days, and that how long a page stays cited on one engine says almost nothing about how long it stays cited on another, with correlations of 0.03 to 0.09. In its words, "The engines decide independently." That is why a single number across engines hides more than it shows.
GA4 shows the traffic side: sessions, users, the key events you have set up such as sign-ups, and referrals from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, compared with the previous period.
Code sites on GitHub and Vercel
If your marketing site is code, connect GitHub and Vercel. XeoRank can create a repository, optionally from an SEO starter, or link one you already have, then commit files, deploy to Vercel and attach your domain. Your AI assistant can add a comparison page as a file, fix a title in a layout or add JSON-LD, and deploy it.
Commits go to the repository's default branch and, when Vercel is linked, deploy in the same step. There is no pull-request step, so review the change in the chat before you approve the commit. If you prefer to work locally, Claude Code or Codex can read XeoRank's findings and edit your own checkout instead. The ChatGPT and Codex and Claude pages cover setup.
Search Console and reporting
XeoRank syncs Search Console queries, query-to-page mapping, URL inspections, sitemap status and errors, and coverage for the URLs it has inspected. The business report adds clicks, impressions, CTR, average position, branded versus non-branded traffic using brand terms you set, top queries and landing pages, a written narrative and GA4 data, compared with the previous period.
Export it as a PDF or a Google Doc in your Drive.
For engineering teams, the REST API at https://api.xeorank.com and the xyle command-line tool (npm package @xyleapp/cli, named after the product's old brand) expose crawl, Search Console and page-analysis data. See the API docs.
What it does not do
- It does not open pull requests. Code-site commits go to the default branch and deploy.
- It does not write comparison pages in one click. The Writing Agent drafts only from material you supply.
- It does not suggest internal links between existing pages. It flags pages with no internal links, and briefs list the pages a new article should link to.
- It does not publish new content engine articles live. On WordPress a new article stops at a draft; a brief that optimises an existing post updates that post.
Pricing
Starter is $19 a month for one site, with a 14-day free trial and no card to start. Pro is $49 a month and Growth is $109 a month. See pricing for what each plan includes.
Questions
- What makes SEO for SaaS different?
- A lot of SaaS buying research happens on comparison, alternatives, pricing and docs pages, and in the answers AI assistants give to questions like which tool to pick. A SaaS SEO tool should cover those pages, read Search Console data, and track AI answers per engine instead of as one blended score.
- Can XeoRank publish to a Next.js site?
- Yes, if the site is a code site connected through GitHub and Vercel. Your AI assistant can commit files to the repository's default branch, and the commit deploys to Vercel in the same step. There is no pull-request step, so review changes before you approve them.
- Does XeoRank track AI answers to SaaS buyer questions?
- Yes. XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity the questions you choose and reports each engine separately; the pricing page shows what each plan includes.
- Does XeoRank write comparison pages for me?
- Not as a one-click generator. It builds a brief from Search Console queries, rival headings and content gaps, scores your draft, and on Pro and above the Writing Agent reviews it for unsourced claims and drafts only from your own notes and interview answers.
- Is there an API for engineering teams?
- Yes. There is a REST API at api.xeorank.com with keys from your settings, a command-line tool installed from the npm package @xyleapp/cli, and an MCP server at mcp.xeorank.com/mcp for AI assistants.
