Ecommerce SEO tool for product pages, schema and AI answers
Mohit M, SEO · Updated
XeoRank is an ecommerce SEO tool for checking whether Google and AI assistants can find, understand and quote your products. It gives Shopify stores a free audit and store scans, generates schema for supported page types, crawls the store for technical issues and checks how AI engines answer your buyers' questions; on WordPress and WooCommerce stores, its AI agent can also make page fixes, and your AI assistant asks before each tool call.
Who it is for
- Shopify merchants who want to know whether AI assistants recommend their products, and what is missing when they do not.
- WooCommerce and other WordPress stores that want fixes made on the site, not only listed in a report.
- Agencies and freelancers who run SEO for several stores. See SEO tools for consultants.
Start with the free Shopify audit
The Shopify audit is free. It needs a Google sign-in but no card and no Shopify login, because it reads your public catalog. It asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude the questions a buyer would ask and shows which answers mention your store. It also checks up to 2,500 products for descriptions an AI answer could quote, and each account gets 3 free audits.
That gives you a baseline before you pay for anything: how many products have descriptions too thin to quote, and which buyer questions get answers that leave your store out.
Connected Shopify stores
When you connect a Shopify store to a XeoRank site, you can scan the catalog from the dashboard: product titles, descriptions, handles and images. The scan results are in the XeoRank dashboard, including products whose descriptions are too short.
XeoRank reads Shopify data. It does not edit your products, collections or theme. The agent can draft a new product description, or JSON-LD for supported types such as FAQPage or BreadcrumbList, and you paste it into Shopify yourself.
Crawl the store the way a search engine does
The crawler checks the problems that are easy to miss on a store: 4xx and 5xx errors, soft 404s, redirect chains, canonical tags that collapse many pages onto one URL, duplicate titles and duplicate content. Crawls started from the dashboard can render JavaScript in a headless browser, and the crawler flags groups of pages whose unique content is missing from the server HTML.
Rules are page-type aware. Product pages, like home, pricing and legal pages, skip the editorial rules meant for articles, so a product page is not marked down against blog standards. Issues go into a fix queue, and you can link them to the goals you set for the store.
Core Web Vitals are measured one URL at a time, mobile by default or desktop, with PageSpeed lab data and Chrome UX Report field data when it exists. You can check a page first with the free Core Web Vitals checker.
Product schema
Product structured data describes a product's name, price, availability and reviews in a form machines read directly. XeoRank's schema generator builds JSON-LD from what is on the page for FAQPage, Organization, Article, HowTo, BreadcrumbList and LocalBusiness; it does not generate Product markup. The free schema markup generator covers Product, Organization, FAQPage, LocalBusiness and Article.
Inside XeoRank, the agent generates schema for a specific page. On WordPress it can place the snippet on the page for you; on Shopify it hands you the snippet to place in your theme.
Schema is not a shortcut into AI answers. Google says its AI Overviews and AI Mode follow the same SEO practices as search and need no special schema or AI text files (Google's guidance on AI features).
AI visibility for buyer questions
Track the questions shoppers ask, such as "which trail running shoes work for wide feet", and see each engine's answer on its own. XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions; see pricing for what each plan includes. An overall rate is shown next to the per-engine results. Profound found that how long a page stays cited on one engine says almost nothing about how long it stays cited on another, with correlations of 0.03 to 0.09; in its words, "The engines decide independently."
Before you track anything, the free AI visibility check asks Gemini three questions about your brand.
GA4 shows the traffic side: sessions and users from visitors referred by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, compared with the previous period, and key events by traffic source. GA4 reporting has no plan gate.
WordPress and WooCommerce stores
If the store runs on WordPress, the WordPress agent can make the fixes: rewrite landing pages, buying guides and the homepage, write SEO titles and meta descriptions into Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO, add schema, upload images with alt text and update menus. Writes are off until you enable them, new pages are created as drafts, and every change to a page's content keeps a snapshot you can restore.
Elementor stores are covered too; see Elementor SEO.
What it does not do
- It does not edit Shopify products, collections or themes. It reads and scans; you apply changes in Shopify.
- It does not manage WooCommerce product data such as prices, stock or variants.
- It does not manage Google Merchant Center or shopping feeds.
- It does not suggest internal links between products. It flags pages with no internal links and leaves the linking decisions to you.
Pricing
Starter is $19 a month for one site, with a 14-day free trial and no card to start. Pro is $49 a month and Growth is $109 a month. See pricing for what each plan includes.
Questions
- What should an ecommerce SEO tool check?
- Crawling and indexing (canonical tags, noindex, broken pages, redirect chains, sitemap coverage), duplicate titles and content across similar products, product structured data, page speed, and whether product descriptions say enough for a search engine or AI assistant to quote. XeoRank's crawler reports broken pages and 4xx/5xx errors, soft 404s, redirect chains, canonical collapse, duplicate titles and content, sitemap URLs that declare a different canonical, and errors in structured data you already have; Core Web Vitals are measured per URL, and AI answers are reported per engine.
- Is the XeoRank Shopify audit free?
- Yes. It needs a Google sign-in but no card and no Shopify login, because it reads your public catalog. Each account gets three free audits, as stated on xeorank.com/shopify.
- Can XeoRank edit my Shopify product descriptions?
- No. XeoRank reads and scans connected Shopify stores but does not write to them. Your AI assistant can draft better descriptions, or JSON-LD for supported types such as FAQPage, and you paste them into Shopify yourself.
- Does XeoRank work with WooCommerce?
- Yes, as a WordPress site. With the free XeoRank Connector plugin the AI agent edits pages and posts, SEO titles and meta descriptions, schema, images and menus. It does not manage product data such as prices, stock or variants.
- Which AI assistants does XeoRank check for shopping questions?
- The free Shopify audit asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. XeoRank's AI visibility scans ask ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions and report each engine separately; the pricing page shows what each plan includes.
