SEO tools for consultants and freelancers who run client sites
Mohit M, SEO · Updated
XeoRank gives SEO consultants and freelancers one place to run client work: technical crawls, Search Console and GA4 reporting, rank checks, AI visibility scans reported per engine, and an AI agent that applies fixes on WordPress, Framer and code sites. Reports export as a PDF or a Google Doc, and on the Growth plan you can issue them under your own business name.
You work from the AI assistant you already use. Connect the XeoRank MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or VS Code, and the assistant calls XeoRank's tools while you talk to it. The dashboard shows the same data if you prefer to click.
Who it is for
- Independent SEO consultants with a handful of retainer clients.
- Freelancers who build or maintain sites and want to offer SEO alongside.
- Small teams that need to share client sites without handing everyone edit rights.
A client engagement, step by step
- Before the first call, use the free tools. The free SEO tools, 14 of them, check meta tags, canonicals, H1s, Open Graph, hreflang, sitemaps, redirects, Core Web Vitals and AI crawler access, and generate robots.txt, llms.txt and schema. The free AI visibility check asks Gemini three questions about a brand.
- Onboard the site. Add it to your workspace and connect the client's Search Console property and GA4 with the access the client grants you in Google.
- Audit. Crawl the site. Issues go into a fix queue, and you can link them to the goals you set, so you can show which fixes serve which goal. Rules are page-type aware, so a client's legal and pricing pages are not held to the editorial rules meant for articles.
- Fix. On WordPress, install the free XeoRank Connector plugin and enable writes when the client agrees. The agent edits pages, SEO titles and meta descriptions, schema, images and menus, creates new pages as drafts and keeps a snapshot of every page-content edit. A preview link lets the client see a draft page before it is published.
- Track. Rank tracking takes a country, state or city, a language and a device, with live checks on Pro and above. AI visibility asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity the client's buyer questions and reports each engine separately; see pricing for what each plan includes.
- Report. The business report covers clicks, impressions, CTR, average position, branded versus non-branded traffic, top queries and landing pages and a written narrative, with GA4 data, compared with the previous period. Export it as a PDF or as a Google Doc in your Drive.
Crawls, scans and reports start when you or your agent run them, so each client gets checked when the work calls for it.
Prompts that fit client work
Each one is a complete request you can paste into your assistant with the client's domain swapped in:
"For example.com, compare this month's Search Console clicks with last month, split branded and non-branded, list the pages that lost the most clicks and draft a short summary I can send the client."
"Crawl example.com, list the issues linked to each goal, and show me the missing meta descriptions on the service pages before you write them."
Reports under your name
On Growth, an Issue under toggle replaces the XeoRank name on the exported report with your organization's name. It changes the brand name only; logos, colours and a client portal are not part of it. Branded terms are set for each report, so a client whose name is also a common word is measured properly.
Details are on the white-label reports page.
Sharing work with clients and contractors
Workspaces are organizations with owner, admin and member roles. Members are read-only unless they are given write access, and you invite people by email. You can let a client or a contractor see the audit and the reports without letting them change the site through XeoRank.
Audits that go past the crawl
- Backlinks, on Pro and above: referring domains, dofollow ratio, a risk breakdown, anchors and per-link toxicity, plus a Google disavow file built from the flagged links in the profile.
- Content gaps: for pages that rank but sit below the top results, each query shows missing topics, a CTR flag, the competitor count and the client's word count against rivals'.
- Core Web Vitals for a single URL, mobile or desktop, with PageSpeed lab data and Chrome UX Report field data when it exists.
- Writing review, on Pro and above: the Writing Agent flags unsourced claims and filler in a draft and suggests minimal patches, which are never applied without you.
- Internal linking checks: pages with no internal links are flagged, and the audit overview counts pages with no inbound links.
When a client is not on WordPress
The same agent edits Framer projects connected with a Framer API key and code sites connected through GitHub and Vercel. For other platforms it produces the fix, such as a JSON-LD snippet or rewritten copy, and you or the client's developer apply it. See SEO for web designers for how the platforms compare.
What it does not do
- It does not give clients a branded login. Clients you invite see XeoRank; white-label applies to exported reports.
- It does not replace your sign-off or your client's. WordPress changes need writes enabled for the site, and your AI assistant asks before each tool call.
- It does not suggest internal links between existing pages. It flags pages with no internal links and leaves the choice of links to you.
- It does not include an AI assistant subscription. You bring Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client.
Pricing
Starter is $19 a month for one site, with a 14-day free trial and no card to start. Pro is $49 a month, and Growth, which adds white-label reports, is $109 a month.

Questions
- What SEO tools does a consultant need?
- At minimum, a crawler for technical issues, Search Console and analytics reporting, rank tracking, backlink analysis and a way to send clients reports they can read. XeoRank covers those and adds AI visibility tracking per engine and an AI agent that applies fixes on WordPress, Framer and code sites; your AI assistant asks before each tool call.
- Can I white-label XeoRank reports for my clients?
- On the Growth plan, yes. An Issue under toggle replaces the XeoRank name on exported reports with your organization's name. Logos, custom colours and a client portal are not included.
- Can a client see their data without being able to change their site?
- Yes. Invite them to your workspace by email as a member; they accept from the invite link signed in as that address. Members are read-only unless you give them write access.
- How do fixes get approved before they go live?
- WordPress writes are off for each site until you enable them, and your AI assistant asks before each tool call. New pages are saved as drafts, every change to a page's content keeps a snapshot you can restore, and the agent can create a preview link for a draft that you send to the client before it is published.
- Is XeoRank worth it for a freelancer with one client?
- Starter covers one site and starts with a 14-day free trial and no card, according to the XeoRank pricing page. For more client sites, compare Pro and Growth on the same page.
