Best AI visibility tools for WordPress: what each one tracks and what it changes on your site

, SEO and AI visibility · Updated

"AI visibility" means different things for different WordPress tools. Some track whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews mention your brand. Some help you write pages that are easier to quote. Some can change your pages for you. Very few do all three, so it is worth knowing which job you are buying.

We compared the options WordPress site owners and agencies are most likely to consider, using each vendor's own pricing and documentation, checked on 13 October 2026. We make XeoRank, one of the tools below, and we have listed its limits as plainly as the others'.

The short answer

Start with the SEO plugin you already run if you have one site and mostly do on-page work, adding its AI add-on for answer tracking on one or two engines. A content team publishing new articles fits a tracker that publishes posts, such as Writesonic or AthenaHQ. An agency or in-house SEO fixing existing pages, including Elementor, fits XeoRank, and large portfolios that need bulk changes and pre-rendering for bots fit Alli AI.

Your SEO plugin: Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO

Start with what you already run. All three now include AI writing help, an llms.txt file and some form of AI visibility.

Yoast SEO. Premium is $118.80 a year for one site and adds AI tools to generate and optimize titles, meta descriptions and content, with a review before anything saves (Yoast AI features). AI Brand Insights, which checks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity describe your brand with one scheduled analysis a week, is in the separate Yoast SEO AI+ plan at $358.80 a year. llms.txt is free in every version (Yoast llms.txt). Yoast documents AI Optimize for the block and classic editors.

Best for sites that already run Yoast and want AI writing help with a review before anything saves.

Rank Math. PRO costs €7.99 a month billed annually (Rank Math pricing). AI Visibility is sold separately (Rank Math AI pricing): Starter at €5.99 a month covers one brand on ChatGPT or Gemini; Expert at €16.99 covers 50 brands on both with daily checks. It shows mentions, citations, sentiment and competitors inside your WordPress dashboard. Rank Math also has a free MCP integration whose tools mostly change plugin settings (Rank Math MCP tools).

Best for one site that wants AI answer tracking inside the WordPress dashboard at a low price.

All in One SEO. Plans start at $49.50 for the first year, then $99, for one site (AIOSEO pricing). Its AI Suite runs AI keyword reports on demand across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek and Perplexity and shows the cited pages; an automatic brand tracker is listed as coming soon (AIOSEO AI Suite).

Best for on-demand checks of which pages AI engines cite.

Where plugins stop: they track a few engines at most, they work page by page in the WordPress editor, and they do not audit the whole site the way a crawler does.

Dedicated AI visibility tools that publish to WordPress

Writesonic tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews on its $79-a-month Starter plan (billed annually) and can create or update WordPress posts as drafts that you publish (Writesonic WordPress).

Best for content teams that want posts to arrive as drafts.

AthenaHQ covers 11 engines on its $295-a-month Starter plan and publishes new posts or updates existing ones in WordPress as a draft, pending or published (AthenaHQ integrations). See our AthenaHQ review.

Best for content teams that want wide engine coverage.

Profound is the enterprise option; its agents create and update WordPress posts. Pricing is by quote after a 7-day trial (Profound pricing).

Best for enterprise teams that want agents to create and update posts.

All three work with posts. None of them describes editing existing pages or Elementor layouts. Elementor's own MCP server can, but only on V4 atomic layouts for now; the Elementor MCP guide covers what it does and what works on classic pages.

Tools that change your existing pages

XeoRank connects through the free XeoRank Connector plugin and the XeoRank MCP server, so your own AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor) does the work. It edits existing pages and posts, writes Elementor sections as native containers and widgets, including Elementor 4 atomic elements, sets titles and descriptions in Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO, and adds schema. Writes are off until you enable them for a site, new pages are saved as drafts, and every change to a page's content is snapshotted so it can be restored; SEO title and description changes are not. XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity your buyer questions, alongside a technical SEO crawler, rank tracking and Search Console data; Pro is $49 per site a month, and the pricing page lists what each plan includes. It tracks fewer engines than AthenaHQ.

Best for agencies and in-house SEOs fixing existing pages, including Elementor.

Alli AI takes a different route: its on-page changes are applied by a JavaScript snippet at render time, and a plugin serves pre-rendered pages to AI crawlers. Plans start at $249 a month billed annually. See Alli AI alternatives for how that works in detail.

Best for large portfolios that need bulk changes and pre-rendering for bots.

How to choose

  1. One site, mostly on-page work: your SEO plugin, plus its AI add-on if you want answer tracking on one or two engines.
  2. A content team publishing new articles: a tracker that publishes posts, such as Writesonic or AthenaHQ.
  3. An agency or in-house SEO fixing existing pages, including Elementor: a tool that edits the pages and tracks the answers, such as XeoRank.
  4. Large portfolios that need bulk changes and pre-rendering for bots: Alli AI.

Whatever you pick, check that AI crawlers can read your site first with the free AI crawler checker, and see best AI visibility tools for options that are not WordPress-specific.

Sources and how we compared

We compared each tool using its own pricing page, feature pages and help documentation, all checked on 13 October 2026. For each one we recorded the lowest paid plan, which AI engines it tracks, how it can change your WordPress site, and what approval step it describes.

Where two of a vendor's own pages disagree, we show both figures. We did not buy every plan, so features behind a sales call are described from the vendor's documentation. XeoRank is our product, and its details come from our own pricing page and documentation.

Questions

Can Yoast or Rank Math track AI visibility?
Partly. Yoast's AI Brand Insights is in Yoast SEO AI+ ($358.80 a year) and covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity with one scheduled analysis a week. Rank Math sells AI Visibility as a separate plan from €5.99 a month that covers ChatGPT or Gemini. All in One SEO runs on-demand AI keyword reports across five engines.
Which AI visibility tool can edit Elementor pages?
Among the tools we checked, XeoRank is the one that edits existing Elementor layouts, writing native containers and widgets through its WordPress connector, with your AI assistant asking before each change. Writesonic, AthenaHQ and Profound publish or update WordPress posts, and Yoast's AI Optimize is documented for the block and classic editors.
Do I need a separate tool if I already use an SEO plugin?
Your SEO plugin handles titles, descriptions, schema and llms.txt. If you need to know whether AI answers mention your brand on several engines, or want an AI assistant to make changes across pages, you will need either your plugin's AI add-on or a dedicated tool.
What is the cheapest way to track AI answers on a WordPress site?
Rank Math's AI Visibility starts at €5.99 a month for one brand on ChatGPT or Gemini. For more engines, Otterly.AI Lite is about $25 to $29 a month and XeoRank asks ChatGPT, Gemini (grounded in Google Search) and Perplexity, with Pro at $49 per site a month including SEO audits and site edits.
